Show CHICKENPOX CAUSES PANIC m SCHOOL An Incipient panic was started at the Sumner school yesterday when Mfss Ruby Thorstrom of 751 South Third East street appeared In the classroom with her face covered with pustules. The principal and teachers believing the girl suffering from smallpox called Dr. Stewart and Dr. Raley, who removed re-moved the girl to her home and after isolating the pupils already exposed, fumigated the classroom. Miss Thorson was one of the members mem-bers of the graduating class and the discovery of her condition' was made when the building was filled with visitors who had come to tee the graduation exercises. The exercises were postponed until this afternoon. After a careful .examination this morning It was determined that Miss Thorstron had a mild case of chicken-pox. |
