THE INDICTMENT WAS RETURNED SHORTLY AFTER 3 O'CLOCK. MACHEN IS CHARGED WITH ILLEGALLY ILLE-GALLY RECEIVING- ? 18,987.75. MR. MACHEN WAS IN COURT WITH HIS ATTORNEY, AND IMMEDIATELY GAVE BOND,1 A NUMBER OF PROMINENT CITIZENS GOING HIS SURETY. ' WASHINGTON, June 5.
