Show ' . I I .-. .w.. i 1 , .s Hen at PccctcIlD Say They Arc- Kct in Sympathy " ! With the Unicn Pacific Strike. .-, The bollermakers and machinists employed In the Short Line shops at Poca-tello Poca-tello have determined to remain at work and will not strike unless they receive positive orders to do so from the president of the Eoilermakers International union. t 1 J., F.'Dunn, superintendent of motive power of the Short Line, returned today from Pocatello, where he held several conference with the men during the rast few days. He says they are perfectly satisfied and do not want to strike. "The men assured me that. they are not desirous of quitting work and that they had decided that they would not strike in sympathy with the striking bollermakers boll-ermakers on the Union Pacific unless they were compelled to do so by positive orders from the International union," said Mr. Dunn. This is considered good news here, for there have been many rumors to the effect that the bollermakers employed In the Short Line shops at Salt Lake and Ogden as well as at Pocatello were preparing to take up the fight being waged by the dissatisfied .bollermakers formerly employed by the Union Pacific. As the Boilsrmakers' union is, stronger in Pocatello than in Salt Lake or Cgden it is believed that whatever attitude is taken by the men there will be followed by the Ogden and Salt Lake members. |
