Show EGYPTIAN LABOR RESTIVE. "National' strikes similar to those that have been prevalent in Russia are now threatening In Egypt," says a letter from Cairo, Egypt, to the Internatiinal Labor News Bureau. "The educated native population of Egypt is beginning to be restive under British rule. Strikes have occurred at the training colleges, where the students have refused to obey the English instructors. These outbreaks, although al-though quickly suppressed and punished, are symptomatic of the state of feeling, which 1b said to have been developed by the recent Turkish movement on the' frontier. The industrial changes of recent re-cent years and the steadily growing economic pressure upon the working people peo-ple are also powerful causes in forcing revolutionary outbreaks." |
