Show DISCUSSION OF Y. M. C. A. WORK Mrs. Lester McLean of Denver Delivers Addresses at Westminster West-minster Presbyretian Church :" on Sunday. ' Mrs. Lester McLean of Denver spoke at Westminster Presbyterian church ; yesterday morning. Mrs. McLean Is a member of the American National Board of the Young Women's Christian Chris-tian association. Her speech yesterday morning related re-lated to the work and the history of the association throughout the world. She 'spoke along the same lines during the evening. She explained that the general 'work of the association consisted of the maintenance of noon rest quarters, lunch rooms, boarding homes, and educational and industrial classes. Speaking of the organization in Salt Lake Mrs. McLean said: "Salt Lake City has undertaken the work in one department, which la the board iryr home department. This department de-partment comparies most favorably with that of other cieitles of the same size. Since I have been here I have been asked if the work is needed in Salt Lake. The best answer I have been able to give to the question is by pointing out to them that the Toung Women's Christian association, which has only been established two weeks in Salt Lake, has .had its boarding department de-partment entirely filled in that brief time, and some had to be turned away, owing to want of room." The boarding board-ing department is located at Second East, between Second and Third South streets. |
