VENICE, C&U Aug. 16 In a fit of anger because the had missed the last car to Los Angeles Mrs. Maida Young, wif of a cement contractor, who said he lived at 1032 Tenth street, Los Angeles, An-geles, attempted to. jump from Windward Wind-ward pier into the ocean. Young and his wife, with several friends, had been dining at the ship Ja-brillo. Ja-brillo. When they came out and found that the last car had left for the city Mrs. Young ran to the end of the pier and attempted to jump into the water, but was caught by ner husband and two of the members of the dinner party. Almost immediately after, and while she was struggling with those who were trying to hold her, Mrs. Young fell unconscious upon the wharf in an epileptic epi-leptic fit. , . The onlr explanation made by loung of his wile's action was that she was annoyed at missing the car. 11 said there had been no trouble at the dinner which would cause his wifo to attempt to take her life. The woman had not regained consciousness' con-sciousness' st 2 o'clock. |
