Show MILLIONAIRE'S SON PRISONER ON SHIP NORFOLK. Va.. Aug. 16. J. Raynor Stores Wells, landsman, U. S. N., husband of a chorus girl and son of Millionaire W. L. Stores Wells of New York and Newport, has spent his first day In the brig of the United States receiving ship Franklin, on a diet of bread and-water. Young Wells Is to be tried by summary sum-mary court-martial, the date of which has not yet been fixed, and should he be dealt with as -enlisted men In the navy' who overstay their time are dealt with, he should be sentenced to the brig for every day he has' overstayed his time, which was about four days and a-half. Wells stopped in Philadelphia to see his wife. There he was located by the naval authorities. He told one of the men aboard the vessel that had he listened list-ened to his wife be would not now be in the trouble he is in. The nature of the advice his wife gave him he did not tell. Wells Is 111 at ease In the navy, and It Is said he has determined to get out of It some wsy. |
