Show AN ORDINANCE. . . An ordinance amending and re-enacting , Section of the Revised Ordlnanoea of Salt Lake City of 1903. " Be it ordained by the City Council of r Salt Lake City. Utah: Section 1. That Section 9 of the Re ;-vised ;-vised Ordinances of Salt Lake City ot 1903. be, and the same hereby is. amend-ed amend-ed and re-enacted so aa to read as fol- J lows: R Section 9. Abandoning and selling sick ' or disabled animals. Docking horses' - tails. Leaving on street more than five " ' ' hours. It shall be unlawful for any 'per- " son to abandon or turn out at large any sick, diseased or disabled animal, but - 1 such animal shall, when rendered worth- ' i ltss by reason of sickness or other dis- -ability, be by the owner thereof killed V and disposed of aa provided by these, m ordinances for the disposition of dsad animala within the city limits. It shall .. f be the duty of police officers to kill and dispose of any animals found running at large within the city limits, or which may . be impounded in the estray pounds of -this city, which are worthless from sick- - ness, disease or other disability. It shall be unlawful for i any person..', to receive or offer for sale, or to sell at publio or private sale within the limits of Bait Lake City, any diseased, disabled .; or lame animal. It shall be unlawful for any parson to lead, ride or drive on any street of this city, for any purpose, except that of eon- -veying to a proper place for its humane . , keeping or killing, or for medical or sur- ' Ecal treatment, any diseased, debilitated, jne or emaciated animal. It shall be unlawful for any person to cut, or assist In the outtlng, within the limits of this city, of the bone of the tail of any horse for the purpose of docking dock-ing the tall, or for any person to cause or knowingly permit the same to be done upon the premises of which he is the owner, lessee proprietor or user, within this city, and the fact that a. horse 4s found with Its tail so cut and with the wound resulting from' such cutting unhealed, un-healed, upon the premises of any person in this city, such fact shall be prima facie evidence that tha person who oc- -cuples or haa the useNif the premises upon which .the horse is so found has " committed such offense, and If a horse ' Is found with Its tail so cut and tha wound resulting from such cutting un- ' healed. In the charge or custody of any person In this city such fact shall be; prima facie evidence that the person hav- . ing charge or custody of such horse has committed such offense. It shall be unlawful for any person be- Ing the owner of, or having charge. Cus-tcdy Cus-tcdy or control of any animal to allow the same to remain standing, fastened -or otherwise, on any of the streets of Salt Lake City for a longer period than five hours of any one day. . Any person violating any of the provisions pro-visions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con- -vlction thereof shall be punished by-a fine of not more than two hundred and iiinety-nlne (1299.00) dollars, or by Imprisonment Impris-onment for not more than six months, or by both such fins and Imprisonment. ' ' Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict hcrewtth are hereby here-by repealed to the extent of such con- 7 flict Section 3.
