A huge irrigation scheme to water 82,-COfl 82,-COfl acres' of land in' the Uintah reservation reserva-tion was presented J to . State Engineer Tanner today- lrt an application by Raymond Ray-mond J.. Walker of Denver for 3u0-second feet of water from the Uinta-river ami Its branches. The applicant also asks for three reservoir sites that will be used in the contemplated irrigation scheme. According to the application. Walker Intends to build a' 200-foot dam four feet high across the Uinta rlvir and divert the water of the Uinta an White Rocks i-rcek through a canal U.otH) feet long into in-to Depp creek. At this poligt another dam will ho built that will divert the waters Into a ditch I:"i3.120 feet in length. The ditch Is to be forty feet wide at the top and thirty-four feet wide at the bottom. The depth of the ditch ia to be eight feet. Walker also filed an application for three reservoir sites. One is to be on the White creek and have a capacity of 8CO0 acre feet, the second will be on the DW-chesne DW-chesne river and will have a capacity of lO.ftGO acre feet, and the other reservoir will be on Deep creek, where 20,0iO acre feet of water can be stored. The land to be Irrigated is situated in -and about township 3 south, range 2 west. |
