The electrical . storm. . which was the greatest ever experienced ln this vicinity, took place at 8:30 o'clock this morning. or four hours the thunder roared like cannon and the lightning flashed contln- j uously. Many persons were aroused from their slumbers and frightened by the unusual un-usual electrical disturbance. Thunder and lightning were accompanied by a heavy downpour of rain. At Downlevllle a large tree was struck by lightning and set on Are. It burned furiously, making a brilliant scene at night at the top of a high mountain. Two trees in this city were struck and torn Into shreds. |
