Show PEOPLE ARE PROUD OF THE UNIVERSITY. . The University" of Utah will soon open its doors for another tuccessful year. The people of the State are proud to know of the rapid strides their chief educational institution has made within the last few years. All the buildings provided for by the last Legislature Leg-islature for the University will Boon be completed and ready for occupancy, providing the much needed additional room space. The extension of the physical science building will give additional addi-tional room for chemistry, electrical engineering and mechanical drawing. The extension to the shop building .will provide additional addi-tional room for the practical work of the engineering students and the hydraulic laboratory to be constructed in connection with the city waterworks will be of great value to the mining industries as w ell as other industries of the State. The gymnasium buildjng will be ready for use in promoting physical education so much needed by all engaged in school work and so strongly advocated by all who understand the great need of the physical development of both girls and boys. ! Our State University includes the State School of Mmes and the State Normal School. Both' these schools are gaining wide . reputations for their most excellent work. Today there are few better bet-ter equipped engineering schools in the United States than our own and no normal school with a better nameTban that of our own state. v" : '-. ' ' ., ' ". : ".: The faculty of all the schools and the departments of the University Uni-versity is made up of men from the best institutions in the country and men,of high attainments and practical experience. The young men a jfd young women of the State have most excellent opportu nities to obtain a higher education right at their doors. " |
