Show Action Against Duffy. NEW YORK. Nov. 20. It was announced today to-day that the Amateur Athletic union's record (Committee, at a special meeUng Saturday, authorized au-thorized James K. Sullivan, secretary of tne union and publisher of the record book, to' eliminate every mark of distinction and championship cham-pionship performance with which Arthur F. Duffy has been credited, these having been made upon the assumption that he was an amateur, as evidenced by his sigmlng of entry forms, etc. , v Play by Electric Light IXS ANGELES. Cal.. Nov. 20 In the first football game ever played In the West under electric lights, the St. Vincent's Vin-cent's college eleven Saturday overwhelmed over-whelmed the University of Arizona team by the score of 54 to 0. The game was played on the Fiesta park grounds under thirty electric lights of 1000 candle power each. The grounds, while not as light as daylight, were sufficiently illuminated to allow thp players to do their best and to permit the spectators to follow the play in detail. The football was painted white. |
