OCR Text	I POLICEMAN LOSES BATTLE BA TILE FOR LIFE NEW YORK July 14 Jack W-Jack Kennedy of the Nassau county police who submitted to thirteen operations to o fight off paralysis which resulted from rom a bullet wound he received in 1928 has lost his long fight for life Ufe On Or April 29 when he went to the operating table for tor the thirteenth time une doctors warned him he had a 1000 to 1 chance for recovery He took the chance because he said aid he had to think of his wife and little ittle boy believing the pension of 1600 1600 he was to receive would not be sufficient for their support Apparently Apparently winning the g gamble he was removed removed re reo re- re moved to his home in New Hyde Park and was planning to be out on crutches within a few weeks Last night he died Kennedy was shot from ambush near Woodmere N. N Y as he hc approached approached ap ap- ap- ap a n car parked in a thicket without lights The bullet pierced his spine
