Show Fourth West Street. This street has been the subject of much controversy during tho last year and a half, on account of the railroads desiring to use it. About a year ago the Utah Western, now embraced in the Utah Central, was granted a frauchlsa on the west side or tho main line or the Union Pacific, Paci-fic, but before tho track was laid the latter road laid a track there. This so filled tho west side of the street that there was not room for another track on it, without making it almost al-most lrapasabie for teams. In view of the situation and to prevent ruining ruin-ing the west side of the street entirely, en-tirely, Hon. John W. Young, or the Utah Central, opened negotiations with tho Union Pacific, to prevail upon them to remove to tue east side of their main lino tho track they had laid on the west side or it, and allow tho Utah Central track to be laid In its place. The Union Pacidc at length consented to this provided tho Utah .Central would bear all the cxpen Involved. Mr. Young agreed to this and yesterday 'paid the Ucion rcIfie5US0. |
