Show An Ernest Appeal... - - - s Dear Citizens: If you had sickness in the family fam-ily and were out of water for six hours every day, how would you feel? This is a condition that has actually existed for the past week. With our present water supply the council has done everything possible, pos-sible, short of arresting a lot of good citizens, to alleviate this situation. sit-uation. Many people are thoughtlessly thought-lessly letting their hose run much longer than necessary to keep their yards green and clean; many are using open hoses and allowing them to run all the time. We have more than our share of water running in the lines from Berts Springs; in fact, we are pumping there to gain pressure; and all our Spring Creek Canyon supply is in the lines, making a total of 5.6 second feet of water in the lines. But the Spring Creek supply sup-ply is lowest at this time of year, so that until it increases in June we can not allow the present miss-use miss-use of water. We admire you for keeping your places clean and beautiful, but with a little more care and thoughtfulness we can all keep our yards as they should be and yet respect our fellow citizens rights. Please, won't you all be considerate consider-ate of the people on the bench who at times cannot even get a drink of water. Signed, S. E. Price, Mayor. |
