Show Friend Of Springville Art Passes Away; Picture In '49 Show Among those who visit the art gallery this year, there will be one ardent booster missing, in the person of Peter William Shelters of Portland, Ore. Mr. Sheffers passed away recently and his passing is mourned by patrons artists, and critics who knew him. Mr. Sheffers will be remembered remem-bered as the visiting artist who last year gave a demonstrated dem-onstrated lecture on art and it was noted that he was the first to register at Springville's Spring-ville's 1948 exhibit. He was amazed at the size and quality of the Springville art show and was represented by two entries, "North Sister" and "Mountain and Spring Tide." This year the work of the late Mr. Sheffers is seen in the picture, "March Morning, Columbia Gorge," hanging in the West Gallery. . |
