Show NEW ICELESS CAR TO KEEP j FOODS FROZEN An "iceless" railway refrigerator refrigera-tor car that maintains zero tern- I peratures' inside when the thermometer ther-mometer registers 90 degrees outside out-side has been developed by an Eastern manufacturer, and approved ap-proved by the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture, Agri-culture, i The "iceless" car is cooled with a-nhydrous ammonia, somewhat as stationary, refrigeration plants are cooled and have been for many years. It is expected to end a bottleneck bot-tleneck that hitherto has hampered hamper-ed the frozen foods industry, since frozen foods need near-zero temperatures tem-peratures to retain top quality. Ordinary commodity cars can't be i kept colder than 15 to 18 degrees above zero in hot weather. |
