Show ' Safe Driving To Be Launched At High School Provo Elks Loans City Car To Aid Project; Program Being Worked Out Springville will be expected to turn out a corps of safe drivers within the very near future as result of a special course in safe driving which is to be conducted at the high school, under direction direc-tion of city officials, it was announced an-nounced today. A detailed program for the instruction in-struction course has not been worked out but is being given to include townspeople in the instruction instruc-tion classes, it was pointed out. To aid in the safety work, the Elks of Provo have loaned to the city a fine touring car without charge and In connection connec-tion with the Instruction classes, clas-ses, actual driving experience will be given students It is not known just how long the course will last but so long as students and townspeople are interested in learning how to drive more safely, the car and instructions instruc-tions will be available. In charge of the driving instruction in-struction will be Police Chief H. M. Weight, Ruel Averett and Hastings Smith. Officials pointed out that the city has been working on the project nearly a year and it is believed that many individuals will benefit by the training. The city also expresses appreciation to the Elks of Provo for assisting in this most worthy project. |
