Major Problems Concerning City ' At the City Council meetings conducted every two weeks at the City Hall, numerous problems are discussed and considerable business is taken up and in keeping keep-ing with a policy to let the people peo-ple of Springville know just what is going on, an official report is given to the Herald following each meeting. Among items taken up at the Monday evening meeting was that of better lighting of the city. It is in the budget and work is expected ex-pected to begin early this spring on improved lighting of North Main street, it is pointed out. Also there is a plan for an over-all renovating of the electrical system sys-tem of the city and this will get underway as soon as possible. To solve the problem of better drainage of Brookside and thus -eliminate possible flood damage, an 18-inch pipe is to be installed on the south side of Fourth South to replace a 6-inch pipe, the pipe to be furnished by the state, if the city will install it. This work is to begin soon. Mayor Sterling E. Price also announces an-nounces that the new Bookkeeping system in the city offices is now in operation and should be a time saver and more accurate than the old method. |
