Show Kolob - Steelets Play Shamrock Club Here Tonight In Top Game Of Softball League . , . Game Time Set For 8 P. M., At Ball Park; Purchase of War Bonds or Stamps Is Entrance Fee Top game of the state Softball league schedule will be played here Thursday at 8 p. m., when the plucky Kolob Lumber-Geneva Steelets meet the Auerbach-Shamrock girls' ten at the Springville park. i The courageous Kolob misses, playing without the services of three of their veteran stars, Lcnorc Weight Kelly, Emma Ul-loek Ul-loek and Joyce Hanks, battled the strong Shamrock stars to a standstill stand-still Sunday in Salt Lake City before be-fore finally losing 3-0 to their more experienced opponents. Beverly Twelves, Kolob pitcher, hurled great ball and actually only allowed five hits, but the inexperienced inexperi-enced Steelets allowed several flies to fall for hits that would have otherwise been easy outs and would have changed the complex-Ion complex-Ion of the game. None of the Shamrock runs were earned and the Steelets had three men on the bags on two occasions but could not produce a winning hit. Florence Muhlestein, playing her first game, performed brilliantly behind the bat although she had never caught a game before. Miss Twelves handled nine hard chances without an error while Betty Johnson, third-baseman; Joan LeyHhon, first sacker, and LaRae Roberts, outfielder, also performed perform-ed brilliantly. Bonnie Hueser was the hitting and fielding star for Shamrocks. In the game Thursday, free tickets will be given with each $25 bond purchased at the game while admittance may also be secured by purchasing 30 cents worth of war stamps as an admittance ticket. The Springville Junior Chamber of Commerce, with Steve Miller in charge, is sponsoring the game.
