Show E Bond Purchases Jump To Total of $91,842.00 Queen Contest Indicates Kiwanis Candidate In Lead With Lions' Candidate Second And Jaycee-Jaycee Wives', Third Springville's E bond purchases jumped to a total of $91,842 for the week, according to a report by offices in charge, but die city has a large amount to purchase yet before the total quota of $174,475 is reached. According to state officials, the bond drive will continue until June 30. The voting for local queens also seems to attract more interest of bond buyers during the week but there are still a number of bonds purchased by individuals who nave not voted for a queen. Purchasers of E bonds are urged to write the name of their choice for queen on the blank given them when they purchase a bond, and drop it into either of the ballot boxes. There is a ballot box in the post office, one at the Springville bank and at the Rivoli theater. Either of the queens will appreciate your vote. A count of the vote Tuesday noon indicated that the Kiwanis candidate, Miss Helen Christensen, is in the lead of other candidates. The Lions club candidate, Miss Louise Clyde, is second and the Jaycees and Jaycee Wives candidate, candi-date, Mrs. Shirley M. Child, is the third. Miss Christensen has a total of 728 votes credited to her, or an increase of 389 for the week; Miss Clyde has a total of 495, an Increase In-crease of 231 for the week, and Mrs. Child has a total of 407 votes an increase of 101 for the week. According to a report of the state, the E; bond campaign has reached the halfway mark, with approximately approxi-mately 18 more days to go. |
