Show . SPRINGVILLE C. A. P. TAKES THIRD PLACE AT MEET The Springville flight of C. A. P. took third place in a state marching march-ing contest at a recent meeting of state C. A. P. organizations held at Municipal Airport No. 1, Salt Lake City. The winners of the marching contest were given a free ride in a B-24 bombers. Many from the Springville group inspected in-spected the control tower and also went through the bomber. Nearly thirty from the Springville Spring-ville organization attended, including includ-ing Ralph Child, flight leader; Frank Berrett, warrant officer, who was also in charge of the marching contest; also Lt. Deal Mendenhall, squadron commander of the Provo squadron, which includes in-cludes most of central Utah. There will be a summer encampment encamp-ment of CAP cadets at Hill Field June 17 to 24, and the Springville organization will have one or two representatives in attendance. There will be about fifty-seven cadets in all, and they will receive a week's schooling with military training and pre-flight for the Air Corps. The Springville organization has a large and enthusiastic group of cadets who meet each week for instructions in-structions at the high school. |
