Show (E. 0. LARSEN TO SPEAK AT KIWANIS MEET Over 300 Members, Guests, Attended Kiwanis Art Program-Banquet Thurs. I E. O. Larsen of the Federal Reclamation Re-clamation Bureau of Salt Lake City, will be the principal speaker at the Kiwanis club meeting this evening, begnning at 7 p. m., at Memorial hall, announces Harrison Harri-son Conover, president. Lee R. Taylor and A. O. Thorn of the Agriculture committee, are in charge of the program. A fine supplementary program has also been arranged. The annual Inter-club Art banquet ban-quet last Thursday evening was one of the most successful and entertaining en-tertaining events of the club year, with nearly 300 club members and guests in attendance from all over the state. Ranch Kimball of Salt Lake City was the speaker of the evening eve-ning and he took up various phases phas-es of art. He pointed out interesting inter-esting features of modern art and in connection with his talk exhib- i ited a painting representative of the modernistic trend. Highlightng the occasion, was the presentation of three beautiful paintings as attendance prizes. Mrs N. O. Munn of Salt Lake City received re-ceived a lovely ' canvas entitled, "Juniper Trees", by B. E. Larsen of Provo. Wm. Dawson of Layton, was presented with a painting by Florence Ware, and Oliver Dal-ton Dal-ton was given a fine painting done by Wayne Johnson. During the evening, Mrs. Doyle Dastrup entertained with several vocal numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Marvin Geese. Sterling Price, vice-president, was toast-master. toast-master. At the close of the banquet, which was served at long tables extended through the Art galleries, galler-ies, the group was conducted on an informal tour of the current Art exhibit. |
