Show SERVICEMEN GIVE TALKS TO LIONS At the Thursday evening meeting meet-ing of the Lions club, four servicemen serv-icemen home on furlough, gave interesting accounts of their experiences ex-periences in various parts of the world. The meeting was under direction direc-tion of the Aviation committee, and Raph Child was iri charge, with President C. A. King presiding. presid-ing. Lt. Donald Bird told of his missions mis-sions over enemy-held Europe and Lt. Vernon Tipton gave interesting highlights of his capture by the Germans. Contrary to most prisoners' prison-ers' experiences, Lt. Tipton found the Germans considerate of him and others about him. Lt. Keith Mendenhall gave a general picture of his operations as a pilot in the South Pacific as well as while he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in England. Eng-land. ( Oran Nielson, who has just completed com-pleted his boot training in the Navy, also spoke briefly. The next meeting of the club is scheduled for Thursday, July 12. |
