Show July Fourth Program Meets With Success Winners Of Various Events To Be Announced In Next Week's Herald ; Many Features Enjoyed By Old And Young Townspeople turned out enmasse for the Fourth of July celebration cele-bration staged by the Junior Chamber, the Lions Club and the Jay-,ee Jay-,ee Wives, Wednesday. The customary sunrise salute i marked opening of the day's program pro-gram which was highlighted by a Miniature Parade, a Baby Show, sports of all kinds for children of all ages, a band concert and eve-ning eve-ning Horse Show. Winners of the parade who were to be awarded prizes of $10, $5 snd 52.50, were not available at the time the Herald went to press, but will be announced in next week's paper, as will winners of the Baby Show, and the winners of the bonds and refrigerator at the Horse Show. Considerable effort was exhibited exhibit-ed by the Jaycees, their Wives and the Lions, in sponsoring the Independence Day festivities, and they wish to extend their appreciation appre-ciation to the loyal citizens, organizations orga-nizations and groups who cooperated cooper-ated to make the day a success. While many difficulties are encountered en-countered in the initiation of . any form of entertainment during these war times, a fine spirit of loyal cooperation was shown by committees from the sponsoring organizations as well as others who were asked to assist. The day's program was appreciated by adults of the community and enjoyed en-joyed also by all young people of the town. |
