Show OPA TO HANDLE FARM PROBLEMS The county AAA office advised farmers that after June 30 the Office Of-fice of Price Administration and the Office of Defense Transportation Transporta-tion will handle their programs without assistance or recommendations recommen-dations from AAA committees. This means the county AAA office will no longer have any responsi-bilites responsi-bilites or funds available for work on applications for truck tires, tractor tires for replacement and conversion, new trucks and off-highway off-highway gasoline. "We will advise farmers how these responsibilities will be han- died as soon as we receive instruction instruc-tion on them," G. Frank Nelson, chairman of the County AAA Committee said. "This has been extra work for our office during the war, but we sincerely hope that our handling of these war jobs has been satisfactory to our farm people and has contributed to the increased food production. It is not the kind of work that tends to make an agency popular because it involves saying 'no' at times, but we have tried to be fair in every instance and carry out this work on a basis of maximum service to our farmers and our Nation." |
