Show MOTORISTS WARNED ON DANGER OF JULY 4TH TRAFFIC "The biggest traffic jam in the state and nation's history will occur oc-cur during the Fourth of July week-end holiday this year," Mr. George H. Lowe, president of the Utah Safety Council, the Utah chapter of the National Council, predicted today. To meet the threat or a record-breaking record-breaking traffic accident toll, he urges motorists and pedestrians alike to follow the simple axiom of Caution, Courtesy arid Common Sense' so they may "BE ALIVE ON THE FIFTH." National headquarters of the council expect close to 30 million vehicles will pack the highways over the Fourth of July and their speedometers are expected to clock nearly 4 billion miles during the three-day holiday. Mr. Lowe stated stat-ed further that "this year we have many dangerous factors a three-day three-day holiday, increased mileage, relative rel-ative prosperity." It adds up to a big celebration and a big pile-up of dead and injured unless we all make it our business to do something some-thing about it. We can do something some-thing about it because these tragedies trage-dies result from things under our control. It will, therefore, be well to "TAKE IT EASY ON THE FOURTH. BE ALIVE ON THE FIFTH." |
