Show Paragraphs Otj j Interest . Mr. and Mrs. Ted A. Rowland and two daughters of Pocatello, Idaho, .have been visiting his parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Rowland. Row-land. Mr. Rowland has just received re-ceived his Bachelor of Science degree de-gree in Pharmacy from the Idaho State College at Pocatello, and has accepted a position with a drug Company in Payson, where they plan to make their home. Miss Louise Rowland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Rowland, is at home on vacation from the U.S.A.C, at Logan, where she has been attending school. Mrs. Shirley M. Child of this city was selected as an attendant to the Lehi Queen for the 1947 Roundup Round-up in that city, scheduled to be held June 25-28. It is the second consecutive year that this honor has come to the Springville girl, who is an expert rider, and "who. has also appeared in many other similar celebrations throughout the county. Candidates for the honor came from all over the state. The queen and other attendant are from Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Devere Weight and daughter, and Fred Weight came from Tooele Sunday to visit relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Boyer and children have returned from an enjoyable two-weeks' vacatiftn trip to San Francisco, Calif. They also enjoyed traveling through, the Redwoods and the Northwest, returning re-turning by way of Yellowstone National Park. They enjoyed one day spent in the Idaho Falls temple, tem-ple, also. Miss Carol Conover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Conover, recently re-cently spent a week at Helper, the guest of Miss Jeanne Thorn. Bert D. Miner, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Miner of this city, has been promoted to rank of second lieutenant in the Army after completing com-pleting an Officers Candidate course at the Infantry school at Fort Benning, Ga., according to word received here. Miner entered en-tered the Army in September of 1944, and served as an honor guard in the South Pacific before returning return-ing to the United States to take officers' training. Mrs. Harriet Johnson of Richfield, Rich-field, is visiting here at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lacelle Sum-sion, Sum-sion, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Turner left Monday for Clairmont, California, wher Mr. Turner will do graduate work at the School of Art. They plan to be gone about two months. Mrs. L. K. Harker of Redford, Calif., has returned to her home following a three-weeks' visit with her mother, Mrs. Jonena Fullmer, and other relatives and friends here and in Salt Lake City.. Miss Bertie Holmes is home from the U..SA.C. at Logan, where she has attended school the past year. i Eugene Robertson, son of Mr. and Eugene Robertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Robertson, is enrolled in the School of Medicine at the University Uni-versity of Utah. From approximately approxi-mately 450 applications to enter the school, only fifty are accepted and Eugene was among that number. num-ber. He is a graduate of Springville Spring-ville high school, has attended the University of Utah four years, and has also filled a mission. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Thurber and two children of Gooding, Idaho, are visiting Mrs. Thurber's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Rigtrup. She is the former Lois Rigtrup. Mrs. Martha Whiting of Maple-ton Maple-ton in company with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter B. Cox of Orem, has just returned from an enjoyable trip to the southern states. Gone about a month, the three visited places of interest in 'Mississippi, Kentucky, Ken-tucky, Illinois and other southern states. They spent some time with Mr. Cox relatives including a sister and family at Summerville, Ga., and a brother, and family at Boca Raton, Florida. They also visited at Lake Harbor and at Miami, Florida, and at Birmingham, Birming-ham, Ala. |
