Show City Appointments Are Announced Several Officers Retain Former Positions While Others Are Newly Appointed; Councilmen Named To Respective Departments Following formal installation of city officials on Monday noon at the City hall, the new officials met and passed. on appointments for the various city positions. Henry M. Weight was retained as Springville city police chief, with Walter Anderson and J. F. Collings, deputies. Ruel Averett was reappointed city health inspector in-spector and part-time policeman. Wayne Johnson was appointed city justice of the peace, replacing Ralph Snelson. Lester Averett was appointed to look after the city streets and walks, and Maurice Bird, the city waterworks and sewer. The work of both departments has previously previous-ly been handled by Mr. Bird. Howard Thorpe was retained as city sexton, and Hasting Smith, as city custodian. Dr. G. B. Orton was appointed city physician and Mrs. Emma Long was reappointed to the position posi-tion of city clerk. Glenn Sumsion was reappointed city attorney. The city power plant attendants were reappointed, namely, Bert Rowland and Arthur Oakley. Ernest Er-nest Harmer was appointed city pasture caretaker and Edward G. Kennelly, city engineer. The city electrician and his assistants will be appointed at a later date, it was announced, as will also the cemetery and city parks caretakers. The councilmen were also appointed ap-pointed to their respective departments depart-ments following installation as follows : Waterworks and sewer, Lee Sumsion, J. W. Grant and A. G. Peterson electric lights and fire station, Ed Johnson, C. E.
