Show Chamber Elects New Officers For Year A. 0. Thorn Named President, Succeeding Glenn W. Sumsion; Installation Banquet Scheduled For Saturday, Feb. 5 A. O. Thorn has been elected president of the Chamber of Commerce for the coining year, succeeding Glenn W. Sumsion. T VV Grant is elected vice-president and Charles Boyer, Harrison Conover, Merle Sargent, William G. Phillips and H. M. Weight, directors. di-rectors. The holdover directors are, "Harry "Har-ry Pennington, Ed Johnson, Paul Haymond and George Wright. The annual installation for the new officers has been set for February Feb-ruary 5, at Memorial hall to which all members and their partners will be invited. Arthur Gaeth, radio commentator, commen-tator, has been secured as the principal guest speaker, and a fine program is being arranged for the occasion. C. A. Piper, in charge of the housing unit in Springville, will also be an honored hon-ored guest during the evening. A number of new projects for the coming year are already on the docket, and the Chamber of Commerce will undoubtedly be an important factor in maintaining this city as one of the foremost in the state. The retiring officers of the Chamber are Glenn Sumsion, president pres-ident G. Lowry Anderson, vice-president; vice-president; and the retiring directors direc-tors are Floyd Miner, Dr. G. B. Orton and J. Emmett Bird, who, together with those reelected, have had a successful year so far as accomplishments are concerned, and have succeeded 'in initiating several fine projets for the betterment better-ment of this community and the townspeople. |
