Show Local Man to Wed Ogden Girl This Month A SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL WAS THE JUNIOR PROM Friday evening in the gymnasium, which was specially decorated for the occasion. The theme for the annual social event was patriotic and hundreds of American flags were employed throughout the hall. General plans for the affair this year were on a conservative basis due to the war, but it was termed by many l one of the most enjoyable and succesfull events of its kind. Ray Clark, class president, was in charge of general arrangements, assisted by Roy Bird, vice-president, Phyllis Brammall, secretary, and other committee members. A NUMBER OF FRIENDS WERE ENTERTAINED by Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Robertson Robert-son at their home on Saturday evening. Cards and a delicious luncheon were enjoyed with prizes going to Harry Ewing and Norman Nor-man Tipton. The guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Reed Clements, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Tipton, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Har-ry Ewing, and the host and hostess. r Announcement is made by Dr. and Mrs. Henry Aldous Dixon of Ogden, of the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy, to Virl Leon Harrison of Springville. The wedding wed-ding is planned for the middle of April to take place in the Salt Lake temple. Miss Dixon is a graduate of the Weber college and the Brigham Young university. She is a member of the Val Norn social unit and the White Key honorary organization organi-zation of B. Y. U. She was also vice-president of the "Y" student body. For the past two years she has been teaching in the Ogden public schools. Mr. Harrison also is a graduate of the B. Y. U., where he was a member of Alpha. Kappa Psi honorary hon-orary business fraternity and was president of the Tausig social unit. He was a member of the symphony sym-phony orchestra of the university and is well known in musical circles cir-cles here and in Provo. The bride-elect will be honored with a trousseau tea to be given by her mother on April 11, from 3 until 6 p. m., at their home in Ogden, and numerous other social events are being planned for Miss Djxon. The couple plan to make their home in Pasadena, Calif., where Mr. Harrison is with the U. S. armed forces. THE JUNIOR GHtLS OF THE THDRD WARD M. I. A. entertained their mothers recently at the home of Aleen Hales. A patriotic theme was carried out and following the evening's program, pro-gram, a tasty luncheon was served to approximately 25 mothers and class members. |
