Show COUNTY BOOKS . SHOW GOOD FINANCIAL STATUS Utah county is in good financial finan-cial condition," an audit report for the two-year period ending December De-cember 31, 1940, made by Joseph N. Castella, certified public accountant ac-countant of Salt Lake City, and released by the county commissioners, commis-sioners, shows. The report stated that the records rec-ords of the county were in good order and accurately kept. The report showed that receipts for 1939 totaled $2,548,472.87, including in-cluding $883,159.42 cash balance at the beginning of the year, and for 1940 they totaled $2,374,-671..09, $2,374,-671..09, including $750,377.63 cash balance at the beginning of the year. Current taxes amounted to $1,438,722.81 in 1939 and 432,890.09 in 1940, the report shows. The ever increasing load of relief re-lief is one of the major problems of the county at the present time, Sylvan W. Clark, county commissioner commis-sioner from Lehi. said Saturday. With valuations also dropping, the program of running the county without borrowing any money,! which has been accomplished during dur-ing the past three years, may be at an end, he declared. |
