Show Baseball Team Begins Workouts M "1 With the city council supporting support-ing the city baseball team movement move-ment here, the club will begin daily practice sessions at the ball park at 5 p. m. under the management man-agement of the WPA recreational directors. The city recreational director, Art Hughes, with Wilford Mower and LaMar Weight, who are working work-ing with the WPA recreational department de-partment here, met with the city council last Monday night to discuss dis-cuss the problems connected with the reorganizing of the baseball sport in Springville. The city council coun-cil voted to contribute to aid the diamond team. The American Legion Le-gion has offered its softball suits and the catching equipment from the junior baseball club to aid the city team. Other organizations will probably assist in getting the team started once again. As was previously planned, the new team will probably join the Utah Central league with teams from Nephi, Levan, Payson, Gen-ola, Gen-ola, and Heber competing. Anyone interested in trying out for the team should contact the recreational directors or meet at the ball park for practice. |
