Show JAYCEES ENGAGE IN VARIED PROGRAM OF EVENTS The local Jaycees have a full program of activities underway, according to a report by President Ernest Boyer. Among their major projects is that of sending the town paper to every service man and woman, whose address is submitted to the Herald office. President Boyer draws attention to the many letters let-ters of appreciation sent in by the boys as evidence of the importance impor-tance of this project. The safety committee of the club met at the home of Chairman Lee Miner Monday evening and outlined a program to be presented pre-sented to the public in the very near future. Other members of the committee are J. D. Ford, Ray McKenzie and Clarence Smith. On Friday evening members of the club will meet to make arrangements ar-rangements for a canvass of the town for the United War Fund drive. The group with their wives have been invited to meet withthe Kiwanis club at Memorial hall this evening, to hear Senator Elbert El-bert D. Thomas speak. The next regular meeting of the Jaycees will be conducted Thursday, Thurs-day, October 19, at Memorial hall and will be under direction of Bill Ruff of the fire prevention committee. com-mittee. After the meeting, teams from the club will bowl. By an elimination process, the best bowlers bowl-ers will be determined. Bliss Packard, chairman of the dance club reports that tickets are being sold rapidly and all who desire de-sire to attend these dances are urged to make reservations for their, tickets immediately. The Jaycees also urge the general gen-eral public to avail themselves of the great American privilege of voting this year and make sure that names are registered. |
