Show Hutchings, expressing his thanks for the Herald, indicates that he really gets around. Not so long ago he stopped at the Herald office of-fice on his way from Camp Roberts, Rob-erts, Calif., to Camp Livingston, La., and now we hear he was recently re-cently transferred back to California Califor-nia to Camp Cooke first and now to San Luis Obispo and he says there are rumors of moving again. He states, however, that he has just leceived two papers which evidently caught up with him, and he sends his latest address, which we do appreciate and will try to keep the papers going to him as long as we get the changes of address. ad-dress. Pfc. Dick Miner Is Now Overseas The Herald this week received a letter from Dick Miner . asking to have his address changed so he would get the paper. He is now with the Allied forces in France serving with the infantry. He was previously located at Camp Carson, Car-son, Colo. Pfc. ern Boulton Writes Appreciation From somewhere in the Southwest South-west Pacific came a letter this week from Pfc. Vern Boulton of the Marines, thanking everyone who made it possible for the boys to get the paper. Vern stated that he just got out of the hospital where he had been confined for seven weeks as a result of combat fatigue, and it sure did seem good to read the home-town paper. It was dated June 15, and was the first he had received. He further stated that he had been in the service ser-vice just a year and eight months of that time had been spent overseas over-seas in the fighting. He paid tribute trib-ute to the Marines as a fighting group and said they still had a big job to do for the happiness of the younger people. Service Man Visiting Family Don Blanchard, who has been stationed with the Navy at Far-ragut, Far-ragut, Ida., has been visiting the past week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Blanchard, and other oth-er relatives and friends. Gerald Sumsion Is Home On Furlough Gerald Sumsion, stationed at San Diego, Calif,, with the Aviation Avia-tion Ordnance, is spending a few days furlough in Springville with relatives and friends. He is a son of Lacelle Sumsion. You aren't seeing that familiar red and green package on your dealer's counters these days, because be-cause all ' Wrigley's Spearmint Gum is being shipped overseas on- ly to our Armed Forces. The Wrig-ley Wrig-ley people are sorry that their limited production makes it impossible impos-sible to supply the folks at home. Until Un-til then, they trust you'll enjoy this Service column. Pfc. Jack Child Is Graduated Pfc. Jack Child, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will H. Child, was graduated last week from the Army Air Forces For-ces Flexible Gunnery , School, Laredo La-redo Army Air Field, Laredo, Tex., a member of the AAF Training Command. He is now qualified to take his place as a member of a bomber combat crew. Along with his diploma, he received re-ceived a pair of Aerial Gunner's silver wings and a promotion in grade at brief graduation exer- |
