In a thrilling extra period, per-iod, Union of Salt Lake City defeated the Springville First Ward locals by a heart - breaking score of 27-25. Although the First warders are not listed among the favorites to win the tourney, Springville fans have seen evidence of a fighting spirit such as demostrated in the game last Wednesday which can do a lot in turning1 defeat into victory. The boys are at top form and boast a team of former Springville high favorites that have had experience enough to go far. Team members include Earl Childs, Bert Cherrington, George Bird, Douglas Brown, Matt Olsen, Woodrow Weight, Ted Jones. The coach is Lamar Weight, and the . athletic manager, Harold Thorn. |
