Show ' DUROC SOW SELLS 4 FOR $140.80 CALEDONIA, MICH. PIXPAGE Few farm animals give more to that "Food for Freedom" movement move-ment on the pork production front than this "old red sow," Queen Rosalie II, a purebred Duroc owned by J. C. Harmer, here. Before she became the huge 1,010-pound carcass, car-cass, she raised 11 litters of pigs. A prize porker with many blue ribbons rib-bons to her credit, her 1,280 pounds of live weight broke her down and Mr. Harmer (left) sold her to Homer A. Snyder (right) for 8140.80, an unusually high price for P single hog. She was so big her Ljistles were removed by skinning instead of scalding. |
