Show LOCAL HUNTERS GET ' DEER, PHEASANTS; Two local hunters among the hundreds who participated in the deer and pheasant hunt recently concluded report a successful hunt. They are Allan Wingate and his father, J. F. Wingate, who both bagged their deer in Spanish Fork Canyon, with Allan getting a four-pointer. four-pointer. Both got their first-day limit in the pheasant hunt but hunting was reported poor the remaining re-maining days with few bird seen. Mr. Wingate, who has always been an ardent sportsman and hunter and who has done a great deal for the sportsman, reported his observation ob-servation to be that there were much fewer deer and pheasants this year and that the past few years wildlife in Utah has been dwindling. Reports from hunting areas indicate his observation to be correct and unless this situation is aided by less hunts to allow more propogation, wildlife in the state will become too extinct to permit of any hunting. |
