Show Spring, Spanish Fork Grid Teams Battle Here Friday Final Game To Start At 2:30 P. M. On Devils' Gridiron; Basketball Drills Open Monday In Gym The Springville High School Red Devils, co-cellar dwellers in Region Three, will meet Spanish Fork here Friday afternoon in the two teams' final game of the year. The game will begin at 2:30. Unless the Springville club can tip the favored Spanish Eleven, it will have to be content with "moral "mor-al victories" for the year in league play. The Devils did decisively trounce South Summit and Wasatch Wa-satch Academy in practice games, however. Friday's game will see Bliss Fullmer, Keith Dalton, Dave Beal, Sam Wheeler., Carl Boyer, Keith Otteson, Dick Wilkins, Oral Bartholomew. Bar-tholomew. CaDtain J. Reed Bird, all Seniors, wind up their football careers. Friday's game, weather permitting, permit-ting, should be a good, hard-fought battle. Hoop Practices Start . . . Prospective hoop candidates will start practice drills Monday night with Coach DelMoine Christensen. Sophomore football players, who are playing Payson's Sophs at Payson Monday night, will start hoop drills later. Coach Christensen Christen-sen will have Capt.-elect Benny Ol-sen, Ol-sen, Ray Miller, and J. Reed Bird, regulars of last year back to form the nucleus of this year's team. Mentor Christensen lost Captain John Savage, John Jensen, Blair Sargent, Eldon Johnson, Allan Fullmer and Russell Groesbeck through graduation. |
