Show fFe Known Couple Celebrate Fortieth Wedding Date Celebrating the fortieth anniversary of their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. E. 0. Best of this city entertained enter-tained at an informal social at their home for their immediate family and close rela-' tives on Sunday afternoon. From a long dining table beautifully beau-tifully decorated with lovely summer sum-mer flowers, a sumptuous buffet luncheon was served at 2 o'clock. Assisting with this phase of the entertainment were daughters of the Couple. Beautiful roses, snapdragons snap-dragons and other blossoms were used profusely throughout the entertaining en-tertaining rooms. During the afternoon, the guests enjoyed the time with games, music mu-sic and general social conversation. conversa-tion. Light refreshments were served in the evening. Attending from Salt Lake City were Mr. Best's two brothers, Herbert and Henry Best, and also his two sisters, Elizabeth and Carrie Best. Richard Best was in attendance from Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Newell Walker and daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Relia Henstrom and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Mar-lin Mar-lin Strong, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ride-out Ride-out and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Best and daughter, all of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ed-gar S. Best and daughter of Springville; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Booke of Provo, Paul Best and the honored couple. Mr. and Mrs. Best have-resided in Springville the greater part of their married life and both have taken an active and prominent part in church affairs. Prerious to moving to Springville they lived liv-ed in Salt Lake City. CARDS FEATTKED AT CICB PARTY Mrs. Floss Phillips was hostess to members of the Social Twelve club at a delightful party on Thursday night, at her home. A delicious luncheon was served at small tables early in the evening, followed by four games of contract bridge. High score prize for the games went to Miss Nell Weight. rRS. ARVTTi BIRD CLUB HOSTESS Mrs. Doris Bird was hostess to members of the Busy Finger club at her home last Thursday afternoon. after-noon. Sewing followed a delicious luncheon served to the following members and guests: Mrs. Veima Roylance, Mrs. Marie Ma-rie Cranmer, Mrs. Marjorie Bird, Mrs. Olive Porter, Mrs. LaVern Beardall, Mrs. Stella Straw, Mrs. Delia Dallin, Mrs. Oleah Sargent, Mrs. Beth Dallin of Long Beach, Calif.., Mrs. Helen Dallin, Mrs. Bill Hansen of Payson, and Mrs. Julia Dallin. During the afternoon plans were made for a husband's party to be held on Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Bird, with Mrs. Stella Straw and Mrs. Marie Cranmer as assisting hostesses. CHERRIE FILIES 4-H CLUB MEET Members of the Cherrie Filles 4-H club spent an interesting evening eve-ning Monday at the home of Miss Lois Hales, leader. The girls worked on their children's clothing cloth-ing project and considerable progress pro-gress was noted. The next club meeting is set for Thursday. SECOND WARD RELIEF SOCIETY OUTING Under the direction of President Lydia Billings, the Second ward -Relief Society will hold an outing at Park Ro-She next Tuesday afternoon. af-ternoon. A delightful program of entertainment is being arranged for the occasion which will mark the close of regular meetings for the season. All Relief Society members mem-bers of the ward are cordially invited in-vited to attend. Transportation will be furnished from the church. a guest. BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR GRANDDAUGHTER Complimentary to her little granddaughter, Laura Nell Alt-house, Alt-house, who is visiting here from Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. . George. A. Anderson entertained at a delightful de-lightful party at her home Friday on the occasion of the .honored guest's fifth birthday. The party was held on the spacious spa-cious lawn of the Anderson home and moving pictures of the little guests were taken as they enjoyed the afternoon of games and refreshments. re-freshments. LUCILLE SUMSION I CLUB HOSTESS Members of the Les Coudra club were guests of Miss Lucille Sumsion Sum-sion at a delightful party at her home Thursday. An enjoyable time was spent in a social chat and sewing. BUSY BEE 4-H CLUB HOLDS MEETING Members of the Busy Bee 4-H club met at the home of Miss Lula Jones on Friday. The group enjoyed enjoy-ed sewing. Present were the following: fol-lowing: Beverly Robbins, Shirley Van Patten, "Glenna Baker, Pauline Paul-ine Van Patten, Nelda Averett, Dela Mae Holmes, Jean Shand, Joy Thorpe, Nola Loveridge, Trysa Loback, and the assistant leader, Grace Richmond.
