Mrs. Norma MacKenzie has re-1 and Mrs. Bill Bradford in New Jersey. Mrs. Bradford is the former Mary Ann Bird. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Bird were in Idaho last week to attend the funeral services of Mr. Bird's sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Bessie Manwaring. Her services were held Tuesday at Rex-burg. Rex-burg. Mrs. Carma Frandsen entertained entertain-ed in honor of Mrs. Ileen Webb who is a fellow employee of the First Security Bank of Provo, and who has accepted -a position on the faculty of the BYU Commerce department, Friday night. Their subject was the current questions before the United Nations. The purpose of this debate was to get the view point of the young people of the world. He has ten more months of service before he will complete his four years in the air force. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Larsen enjoyed en-joyed the company of Mrs. Ruth L. Hunt and her two young daughters daugh-ters Judy and Helen and her son Paul at their home Sunday. A married mar-ried daughter and her husband were also with Mrs. Hunt. They were Mr. and Mrs. G. W. McClean and young son Calvin of Norris, Montana. Other, dinner guests at the Larsen home Sunday was Brant Koyle of Spanish Fork who is -a friend of Robert Larsen who celebrated his twelfth birthday that day. The seminary students of the Springville high school presented the program in the Mapleton ward Sunday night under the direction of their instructor Alton Merrill. A summary of their year's work was given in speeches of the following fol-lowing students: Clyde Stevens, Aldeen Cazier, Morris Warren, Mary Joe Gividen, Dick Clyde, Marva Dibble and Jack Canto. Music Mu-sic was furnished by Kay Whitney and Anna Lee Bartholemew, accompanied ac-companied by Mary Best. Additional Addition-al talks were given by Fred Hurst, John Beardall, Helen Parry. Jesse Warren together with Gordon Gor-don Thorpe and Don Phillips of Springville was in the winning Future Fu-ture Farmer team who won first place this year in the Utah county land judging contest according to S. R. Boswell, Utah County agricultural agri-cultural agent. Entered in the district competition competi-tion of Alpine, Timpanogos and Nebo soil conservation districts of the county, were Future Farmers from Payson, Spanish Fork, Provo, Springville, Pleasant Grove and Lehi high schools. The champion team will ge an engraved plaque. Lorrin Phillips is their instructor. . Mr. and Mrs. Marty Larsen have returned to their home in St |
