Show Subscriber Writes Appreciation for Home-Town Paper Dear Editor and Fellow Home-towners Home-towners : I didn't feel like working this morning, so was pleased to find the "Herald" in my mail box. I always read it from page one to the end, then go back to see if I have missed anything. I enjoy the choice bits of philosophy, as well as the news items. I am always glad to see the names of people I Jcnow unless of course I find them m the obituary column. First of all, I thought you'd be interested to learn that my sister Maude Hatch Benedict, who, not so long ago wrote the "Do You Remember" articles for the Herald, has been here in San Diego, for the past month visiting her son and family of El Cajon, Calif., and incidentally, me. We've had a wonderful won-derful visit going places and talk ing about dear old Springville and our happy childhood there. We also talked about the great increase in-crease in population and the beautiful beau-tiful homes and the many improvements improve-ments you have made, in fact, we decided we are pracically strangers when we visit our own home town now. But we are proud to say "Springville in Utah" is my home town. I shall always be thrilled to learn of the doings of my friends and acquaintances in Springville. Perhaps you don't know it, but just to see the names of the older families in the paper is a thrill. I shall always be interested in the Birds, Browns, Boyers, Brailsfords, Crandalls, Conovers, Deals, Rey- nolds, Dallins, Miners, Daltons, Childs, Thorns, Weights, Masons, Cleggs, Ostlers, Hatches, and so many others too numerous to mention men-tion now. So all you people from important families, and you're all important to me!, let us read all about your doings and above all, take care of yourselves. Just keep on "Keeping on." Your interested friend and well-wisher, well-wisher, Leelyn Hatch Bjarnson, 4098 Albatross Street, San Diego, California. P.S. My thanks for a good home paper (The Herald). |
