Show Dr. Edward Hart to Begin Series of Lectures Today at Hafen-Dallin Club the month of October and it features fea-tures a variety of quality paintings paint-ings in oils, water-colors and figure fig-ure drawings as well as sculpture. The public is invited to see the art display which will be open on school days from 9 until 4:30 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. Everything points to a most successful suc-cessful year for the Hafen-Dallin Art Study club which announces the opening meeting today at 5:15 p.m. in the Little Theater of the high school art building. Dr. Edward Hart of the BYU English department has been secured se-cured by the club to give a series of lectures on the great English novels. During the classes Dr. Hart will tell the story of the novel and comment on the philosophy philos-ophy of life which it portrays, according ac-cording to Miss Zina Johnson, club president. Today he will give "Tess of the D'Ubervilles," by the English nov-eslist nov-eslist Thomas Hardy. On October 8: "An American Tragedy" by Drieser; October 15 "Of Human Bondage" by Maugham; October 22, "A Passage to India," by Forester; For-ester; October 29; "Intruder in the Dust," by Faulkner. The November 5 and November 12 selections are to be announced later. There will be a small charge for the series of lectures or if desired a small fee may be paid for each lecture. This is necessary because of the lack of adult education edu-cation funds. Art Exhibit The tea marking the opening of the Oliver Parson one-man art exhibit, ex-hibit, Sunday, was a marked success suc-cess with approximately one hundred hun-dred people attending.
