Show 'Lincoln PTA Honors Presidents A Founders Day program honored honor-ed past presidents of the Lincoln School PTA last Wednesday night at the Lincoln. Short talks, tributes tri-butes and program numbers also featured the evening's program. Elsa Oldroyd spoke on adult education ed-ucation programs and urged members mem-bers to attend the classes. Clara Sumsion and Leah Huff gave talks on the activities of PTA. Mrs. Blanche Beal, second grade teacher teach-er gave a tribute to the founders of the PTA, Mrs. Burney and Mrs. Hurst. Principal Ray Clark gave brief remarks concerning the work done by the PTA for the school. Mr. Moore led the group in the song, "Thv High Ideal" accompanied accompan-ied by Alberta Hoover. Past presidents of the Lincoln school PTA who were honored included in-cluded Clara Sumsion, Elda Jensen, Elzina Laney, Lela Packard, Ina Christensen, Vera Sumsion, Edna Thorpe, Helen Rowland, Mane Whiting, Melva Harrison, Leah Huff, Maurine Childs, Elmina Mad-sen. Mad-sen. Nominating committeemen named nam-ed for the group included Rea Straw, faculty, Wilna Allred, Vivian Viv-ian Haymond, Marie Whiting. |
