Show Boys, Girls Awarded 30 Prizes Plus Cash as Subscription Contest Ends Fourteen boys and girls stuck it out to the last of the Springville Herald School Age subscription contest and were richer as well as happier with the cash commissions, cash awards, and the fine prizes which they won. Every contestant who stayed in the contest the full thi'ee weeks won a prize as well as commissions commis-sions on the subscriptions he sold and the money he collected, plus a prize or prizes. i Rulon Condie, up and coming super-salesman, took first place ; honors and won the fine G. E. port able television plus cash and commissions. com-missions. Running next to him came 11-year-old Lucille Miner with Dorothy Beach placing third; Johnnie Stokes, fourth; John Miller, Mil-ler, fifth; Jimmie Sheffield sixth, and Lynn Bird, seventh. Everyone of the these young folks not only benefited financially but they also gained considerable sales experience and an opportunity opportun-ity of meeting people through participation par-ticipation in the contest. Besides these seven, there were seven other boys and girls who took part in the contest and won their share of the thirty prizes, plus cash, given away during the three weeks. They included Dale Lee, Laurel Springer, Mike Richmond, Rich-mond, Karen Cox, Mac Bills, Marie Wentz and Linda Whiting. Besides the G. E. Portable television, tele-vision, prizes included one Schwinn boy's bicycle, one Schwin girl's bicycle, bi-cycle, a ladies wrist watch, a Kodak Ko-dak flash outfit, three table radios, ra-dios, two record players, two Sheaffer Snorkle pen and pencil sets, one riding bridle, four Brownie Brown-ie flash outfits, two Sheaffer pen and pencil sets, two BB guns, two basketballs, a brush and comb set, three tennis racquets, two table tennis sets and one pair of boxing gloves. |
