Show Leadership Events Scheduled at BYU Beginning June 16 Leadership Week which opens on Brigham Young University campus June 16, will not be "all work and no play." Special events over and above the normal Leadership activities are being planned by the Special Events committee headed by Lars Crandall of the BYU faculty. "There'll be plenty of entertainment entertain-ment and social activity in the offing of-fing for all concerned," said Mr. Crandall. "Fortunately the famous Paganini Quartet is scheduled for two performances during the week, and Alexander Schreiner, Tabernacle Organist, will give a lecture-recital on LDS hymns the opening night of Leadership." On the lighter side Mr. Crandall said that a special get-together social would be held as an icebreaker ice-breaker for the 2,000 members who are expected for the 29th annual an-nual BYU meeting. On the night of June 19, members mem-bers will be invited to attend an evening of music and drama at College Hall. Dr. Preston Gledhill will direct two stage classics, one a comedy and one a farce, and Newell Weight of the music department de-partment will supply the evening's music. "Both plays are intended to be light and digestible, giving the audience a chance to relax and enjoy en-joy fully the theatrical atmosphere," atmos-phere," said Dr. Gledhill. Other activities during the week will feature daily tours through BYU's Physical Science building, including the workings of the observatory ob-servatory atop the two-million dollar dol-lar structure. Three conducted tours to nearby Geneva Steel will also be available. |
