V M r -. .... :" ' "' Mr. and Mrs. John Hiatt Mr. and Mrs. John Hiatt to Celebrate 63 Years of Wedded Life on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. John Hiatt of Springville have been married longer than is considered by some, a lifetime. They will celebrate the 63rd year of their marriage Sunday, August 12, and are believed be-lieved to be one of the longest married couples in the vicinity. No big celebration is planned, but relatives and friends will call during the day to extend their wishes for more wedding anniversaries. an-niversaries. M. and Mrs. Hiatt have been residents of Springville since 1930, and are making their home on Third North and Third East. Born in Slaterville on Chistmas day, 1865, Mr. Hiatt was the son of early pioneers, Samuel Moore and Mary Eleanor Taylor Hiatt. Mrs. Laura Precindia Meservy Hiatt was born at Fish Haven, May 14, 1870, a daughter of Joseph R. and Laura Southworth Meservy. The couple were married August 12, 1888 and later received their endowments in the Temple. Following their marriage, they lived at various times in Snake River Valley and in Oregon, where they moved in 1901. From Oregon, they went into Canada and later back to Oregon. In 1923 they came to Utah and moved to Springville in 1930. They have been active members of the LDS church. They are parents of eight sons and daughters with four daughters daugh-ters living including Mrs. Lee Huff of Springville; Mrs. Carl E. Baum of LaGrande, Oreg. ; Mrs. Earl Packard of Mesa, Ariz. ; Mat-tie Mat-tie Hiatt of Springville. There are also 31 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. |
