Show mild solution (on white materials only) of 3 tablespoons Javelle or chlorine water to 1 quart of cold water. Rinse thoroughly with a weak solution of vinegar and water wa-ter (3 water to 1 vinegar). For nonwashable rayon fabrics: Sponge with lukewarm water as soon as possible diluting the stain as quickly as possible. GLUE. For washable rayon fabrics: fab-rics: Soak the spot in warm water. If it is a stubborn stain, you may have to soak it for quite a while. For nonwashable rayon fabrics: Sponge the spot with water, then with vinegar. Then sponge again with clear water. How to Remove . . CREAM. For washable rayon fabrics: Sponge with cold or lukewarm luke-warm water. Then wash in warm soapsuds. For nonwashable rayon fabrics: Sponge with Carbona, Energine, or carbon tetrachloride to remove the greasy part of the stain. Let dry. Then sponge with cold water. EGG. Scrape of with a dull knife. Do not use hot water as it sets egg stains. For washable rayon fabrics: Sponge or soak in cold water. Then wash in lukewarm suds. For nonwashable rayon fabrics: Sponge with cold water. If grease spots remain from cooking of the egg, sponge with Carbona, Ener-gine Ener-gine or carbon tetrachloride. FLYPAPER. Sponge the stain with Carbona, Energine, or carbon tetrachloride. FRUITS (Fresh or Cooked). Treat fruit and berry stains immediately, im-mediately, if possible, as they are hard to remove after they are dry. It is better not to use soap as alkalis set some fruit and berry stains. Use same methods for removing re-moving stains from cooked fruits and berries as from fresh. For washable rayon fabrics: Rinse thoroughly with warm water wa-ter first. Then launder with soap and water. If stain persists, use |
