Show "Book Review, Paper Heard At Club Meet An interesting program under direction of Mrs. Lucillle Wise and Mrs. Lenore Bills featured the meeting of the Jeune Mere club when they met with Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Allan last Wednesday evening. even-ing. "The Story of America", by Hen-drik Hen-drik Willem Van Loom was given in interesting manner during the evening by Mrs. Wise. Also Mrs. Bills gave the history of the flag and flag etiquette in which she stressed the point that since a resolution adopted by the federated federa-ted womens' clubs at a convention in 1942, it had been customary to salute the flag with the hand over the heart. The present method of saluting the flag is considered the correct method as it was adopted adop-ted by congress some time after the ladies convention adopted the resolution. David Allan entertained the club members with a trombone solo. Mrs. Amy Klauck read the club collect. - A short business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Frances Clark, president, during which she urged the members to purchase savings bonds. The evening's program was preceded pre-ceded by a tasty luncheon served by the hostess to club, members and Mrs. Stanley Bird was a special spec-ial guest. |
