Show Sixth Ward Enjoys Banquet Served So. American Style Kolob stake Sixth ward members mem-bers enjoyed a South American "treat" in food, song and dance, when they met together last week for a building fund banquet. A delicious South American dish was served as the main course of the suptuous dinner after which a program was presented by a group of BYU students including Rosita Pecolo, Eduardo Torres, natives of Argentina; Eddie Ar-gault, Ar-gault, native of France and former resident of South America; Art-urio Art-urio Dehoyos of Mexico; and three former LDS missionaries to Argentina, Ar-gentina, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Sch-reeves Sch-reeves and Sterling Stott. In solo and group singing in native dialect, the guests portrayed por-trayed the music of their country, and Rosita and Arturio delighted their audience with folk dances in native costume. South American motifs and handwork enhanced with spring flowers lent a special interest to the decorations. The banquet was under the sponsorship of the ward Sunday school with Paul Lloyd, John Strong, and Vernon Dunn of the superintendency in charge of general arrangements assisted by their wives and members of the teachers staff. |
